Just went over to one of my local Lowe's walked around everywhere didn't have anything. Picked up a toilet flapper and then saw this........

The whole cart for $10 bucks... so I got it what the heck. 59 5/8 x 10 inch zinc plated bolts that go for 2.50 new not counting the other stuff has to be well over 500 retail in the cart.

Shop Smith 15 pack of film discs (Item #12058 http://www.lowes.com/pd_204740-1069...t=12058&pl=1&currentURL=?Ntt=12058&facetInfo=)
Shop Smith 2 pack of flap discs (Item #12604 http://www.lowes.com/pd_204817-1069...=12604&productId=50159041&rpp=32#BVRRWidgetID)

for $1.00 each marked down from $10. I got 22 Total. This is in Hermitage PA. The next closest store to me has these for over $3.00 so YMMV

They also had one pack of belt sand paper for the same price, although I don't have a belt sander. These were on a stand alone cardboard display in the lumber isle (with the 2x4's)

"Sale Complete Cart $10"

Did you get the cart too????

:lol_hitti

x2, it does read "complete cart"... cart's not complete without the cart itself. Nice buy!

My Lowe's seems to be on the more conservative side with these discounts. But this thread has me walking nearly every aisle each trip looking for yellow tags.

Does anyone own both of their bit ratchet sets? What is the difference between the ratchets? It appears to me that the one with the sockets has a hex insert on the ratchet, where as the bit only one has spline inserts. :dunno:

So the ratchet is the same for both kits? I looked at the one without sockets in the store and it has a spline insert in both of the ends without a friction ring. Online they appear to have a 6pt insert on both ends with a friction ring on one end. Also in the online picture there appears to be a retaining clip of sorts in the set with the sockets. I have yet to find that one in the store (the one I was looking for).

I bought the 300 pc and it filled up my HF 5 drawer cart decently especially with sockets. It came with a lot of 1/4" and 3/8" sockets in 6 and 12 point and deep sockets as well. These aren't used for a living so I don't mind the China made parts.

I have that set. It works well enough for a shade tree. I had one socket that wasnt stamped the size. I took it to Lowes and they gladly let me pull a replacement off the shelf.

Zkling, I have both and will take a look tonight for you.

A store close to me had 44 in stock for $3.44, was going to pick up a few until I read the reviews. They seem to be total junk.

Does anyone have/use the no name 88 cent screwdrivers at lowes? I've debated picking up a bunch to put in my junk yard bag.

Zkling, just like Doan's, my ratchet wrenches are the same in both sets. They have 12-points in both the 1/4 & 5/16 ends with magnets at the bottom to hold the bits. There is not any other type of retaining clips in the wrenches or on the bits.

I bought the last one in the Madison Heights, MI store but I was able to get this Bosch cross line laser for $50 and then added a $10 off $50 coupon. I had been eyeing these but could never justify the MSRP. FYI I bought it online for store pick-up but noticed a big variance in price at the Lowes near me (Southfield MI has 5 but at $160/each...)

Lowe's is not known for having good screwdrivers at any price, ever since Klein left. I would get the $8 HF set for your junk yard bag. Better investment in a better tool.

Thanks for checking. Looks like I'll grab one of the bit only kits, that is all I can find locally anyways. The web pics must be old or just incorrect.

You mean Southwire isn't a good deal? Seriously, though, I bought some Kobalt rubber handled screwdrivers on clearance last year that seem pretty decent. Comfortable, durable, and well-made compared to other Kobalt screwdrivers.

The PC 12v set mentioned above is sold out in my area--picked up the display a few hours away for $36 and tax as mentioned a few pages back. They work really well. Used the impact to drive a few 2" and 3" screws, and the drill to finish drilling out a 5200 series lock after my 18v battery died. The 12v didn't have the power to start the latter job, though.

Hey guys, I've largely been disappointed in my Lowes for some time, as hardly anything ever is on clearance and the few that are aren't at the low prices ever posted here. I did notice though at mine, they have a number of cement/masonry tools on clearance now, both in Kobalt and some in Blue Hawk brands. You kind of have to just search on those brands, but here is an example, a 14" stainless steel trowel for less than $6:

http://www.lowes.com/pd_498702-5183..._price|0&Ntt=kobalt+18+pool&page=1&facetInfo=

Another thing I saw were some plastic protractors with angle wheel on clearance. These are QUINT brand:

http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay...gId=10051&cmRelshp=rel&rel=nofollow&cId=PDIO1

Might have uses for some. - Paul

I have the same problem. After Christmas I have $100 in gift cards that I expected to use on the normal tool clearance deals. There really haven't been any. At least they will get used on projects this summer.
