Drove out to Vidalia this morning. Foaming glass cleaner was 91¢ a can, product number 0399179. Otherwise, they had plenty of the Vaughan Stealth/Superbar combos at $15 and some clearance nailers. Nothing spectacular...I picked up some Senco subfloor nails for $17 and another one of the Vaughan combos.

I noticed the Super bar is priced at $13 by itself; may get one more combo tomorrow for the (almost, after 10% discount) free hammer.

Just noticed that Vaughan hammer/prybar combo for $15. That is a nice deal. I love Vaughan and don't have this newer style in the lighter 17 oz size. Supposed to hit as good as a 19 or 20 I think with improved design. Good deal and thanks guys. That coupon link worked for me too, $5 off $25. Super. - Paul

Lowes price match policy excuse #375:

So my store restocked up on Rockwell Jawhorse. Just a few days ago they were at $54. I brought in the receipt from a few weeks ago that I bought in this same store showing $54.

"Sorry we're not taking $100 off. Tough luck". "We don't price match our sales"

He also said "we don't match the online price". I had to explain to him that the online price is the actual store's price. What a 'tard.

so return and re-buy

I don't get this. Smart phone, Lowes.com, buy item (at sales price), take item and phone to service desk. Leave happy. Buying online you can even use one of the coupon codes.

It's back up to $149 online at my store. All of the other stores around have it at 99. My store is the only one around here that had it at $54 (up until last week). The best I would be able to do is 99 with whatever coupon code discount (if I buy it at another store). I was trying to get another one at the $54 they had it as before in my store, but they're not budging on a price match with a receipt from their own store.

Found a few Irwin pliers today for 8 bucks a piece. The employee was no help with checking in top stock. Found an old coworker in there and we found a box of 5 that was delivered today. Picked them all up and I got a discount so got them for 7.20 a piece. Nice cutters. They are showing 6 more in stock if you can find them. They were displayed on an endcap.

I find it funny that they have it on clearance price but yet they're still ordering more. It's like my store having the Rockwell Jawhorse at $50 the last few weeks, selling out and selling me the display model. Then 2 weeks later they get more.

Spin the bottle... clearance or not clearance?

Clearance and discontinued are two different things. Just because something is "clearance" does not mean they are discontinued and will not restock.

Sometimes purchasing contracts will dictate they have to buy/take more in from a vendor of a given item and if they failed to sell existing stock, they can then 'clearance" price it to move it out to fulfill their purchasing contract.

understandable. but I still see it odd that they sold me the display model and told me they weren't getting anymore.

Picked up the Vaughn hammer/prybar combo this morning for $15 from one of the most beautiful young ladies I have seen. I think I need to order more stuff so I can go back to the pickup counter  ;)

My Lowes had something like no longer stocked on the stickers for the Jawhorses, but they now have a bunch in stock at full retail. Maybe they renewed their contract?

$14.98 each- the pliers set was a pretty good markdown but this particular one had the free adjustable for the same price so I grabbed it.

My store had none left. That super bar looks just like the craftsman one. I swear they must comes from the same manufacturing plan.

The guys at the store said they were no longer going to stock it at our store, the neighboring store would not price match. I even had a picture of the clearance tag.

I really like the Vaughn hammer. I have a bunch of hammers already but this one is different from what I already have. It has a large smooth face, a relatively short handle, but a very hefty feel to it. I haven't used it yet, but I like the feel of it. It may be my next go-to hammer. An extra pry bar never hurt either.

I agree. I also want to try one of the Stanley FATMAX Anti-vibe hammers.

All of these stores are sold out, at least according to the website, but for those that know any tricks, here are all the prices I found under $300:
Store #: 1827 | Location: Brooksville, FL | Price: $ 284.33 | Quantity: 0
Store #: 1935 | Location: Sarasota, FL | Price: $ 227.46 | Quantity: 0
Store #: 2484 | Location: Baton Rouge, LA | Price: $ 284.33 | Quantity: 0
Store #: 1946 | Location: Portland, ME | Price: $ 113.84 | Quantity: 0
Store #: 1121 | Location: Grandville, MI | Price: $ 154.24 | Quantity: 0
Store #: 2314 | Location: Republic, MO | Price: $ 142.16 | Quantity: 0
Store #: 2626 | Location: Raymore, MO | Price: $ 150.53 | Quantity: 0

Man I'd snap that deal up in a heartbeat if I could find one! $630 around here.

Rocket, how do you search multiple stores? I'm always having to use my local zip & have yet to find an easy way to check multiple stores on line?

Looks like Lowes is dumping Lincoln and going with Blue Hawk for their welders.
Might as well plug an extension cord into the wall, strip the wires, and try to weld with that :spit:

Seems to be the Lowe's business model: stop selling established brands (Wiss, Ideal, Knipex, etc) and replace them with generic tools made by a conglomerate (Stanley Fatmax HVAC tools), store brands (Blue Hawk), and new tool brands that are priced as high as Klein (Southwire).

All of these out of stock stores are showing full price. How did you get those prices?

Interesting, the Lowes iPhone app shows full price (out of stock) but the website shows discount price (out of stock).

They must have made a change to the app.. I thought it used to show the discount price even if out of stock.

Lowes really needs to sell Blue Hawk Beer too, so you can get the whole experience:

"hold my beer while I weld with this here cut off extension cord"

Is Blue Hawk just Lowes' equivalent of Home Depot's HDX line?
Just a cheaper crappy version of Kobalt?

I was told by someone that Blue Hawk was made by Campbell Hausfeld. Not sure..
