Damn all you NH deal hunters. I always go to the Nashua and surrounding Lowes. Now I know why I can't find any deals. I was in the Nashua Lowes today buying some Lincoln 7018.

I mentioned that a few months ago. Why that site keeps getting linked to is beyond me.
That site is safe. I'm in IT and I use it on my own machine. Yes it flags AV but not because of the content but because of the pop up ads. The inventory checker itself is fantastic. I created several store lists for my state and then broke the main list down into sets of 50. I find a store that has what I need at a good price and call them to pay for it and have it shipped. Works great.

No luck trying to price match a Hitachi NV45AB2 roofing nailer. Have a receipt and picture from Home Depot in the same city for $100. "We don't price match clearance prices"

It actually says on their price match policy that they don't match close outs and clearance prices. Doesn't hurt to try though.

Little Hot Deal here: Task Force #2 screwdriver (46729) 35¢ each, or 31¢ with .mil discount. Made in USA and has decent reviews. They are normally under $1 anyway, but perfect for backups, gifts, beaters, or flips. I grabbed all nine on the shelf in Savannah...store shows 19 more in stock.

Otherwise, did a walk-through of the store and found nothing of note.

Because there's nothing wrong with it. I'm sure if you go there without an ad blocker you'll get all kinds of crazy warnings. I'm not sure why you wouldn't be using an ad blocker though.

If you get a warning when you actually run the program, it is likely because the application "phones home" and connects to its own web site to perform the price checking. Not sure exactly why it works like that, but it works very well.

When work blocks a site, my security at home blocks a site, and my phone won't load the site, that tells me something isn't kosher. I work in IT, so I take security pretty seriously. Glad it works for you.

Just an FYI..........I created the program you are all referring to and I can assure you that it's safe to use. It does connect back to the website every time you open it in order to check for updates but that's it.

Blocked by my work's firewall, saying "suspicious"

I think even at home, my anti-virus software raises warnings about that site.

I got the same message from my AV software.

Well I'd like to personally thank you for creating the program and sharing it. I have found a lot of use for it.

maybe an android version for mobiles?

I'm not quite smart enough to go that route...maybe one day I'll teach myself a different programming language.

The only thing I can think if that would make it better would be to allow more than 50 stores at a time.

Thank you for your efforts.

I have it setup that way to try and prevent Lowe's servers from getting raped which could lead to them changing their coding which would make the program inoperable.

I figured there was a good reason for it.

Love the app, thanks for it!

Is there any way to actually get prices for HD items too? Would make it a lot easier hunting for diamonds in the rough :)

Unless something changed, Home Depot doesn't have different prices on their website for different stores like Lowes does. That's why the program only shows you quantity on hand.

Yeah, as I was using your app to find some HD stuff last night, I realized that (even though Ive been on their site enough that I should have remembered!)

FYI - for anyone using it, anything thats listed as "low inventory, see store for details" shows up as 0 in the Home Depot app. So its possible they might have one.

I've tried to use your program on three separate PCs with ZERO luck :(

I get the same error message each time:
Compnent 'RICHTX32.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctrly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

Can you explain what I'm doing wrong? I DL the .zip, extract all files and try to run the .exe and that appears...

Google it and watch a YouTube vid that pops up. That will show you how to fix the issue. The vid I watched the guy was dropping the files in the wrong win folder. Gotta put it in the 64 not the 32 if my memory serves me correctly

$14.98 each- the pliers set was a pretty good markdown but this particular one had the free adjustable for the same price so I grabbed it.

I noticed the plier set is down to 12.49 now if anyone is interested and can find it.

It's not a big deal to me, as I used a simple linux command to accomplish this, but perhaps you could include not only the full store list in one file, but also the store list broken up into multiple 50 store files. Those who are not so computer savvy would find that incredibly helpful.

Hey Rocket, any chance of sharing what command you use to scrape the price data? I assume you're starting with curl or wget. Even a pointer in the right direction would be helpful - I can' figure out a way to modify the url to change stores. Do you have to set cookie data or something as well? Any tips?
Thanks!

The 10" Hitachi miter saw is $99 through Sunday. Regularly $139. Good reviews--I contemplated one at $119 a couple of months ago. Looks like I've got to take a last minute road trip this weekend, if that gets cancelled one of these may end up in the truck.

I'm using this program: http://site-check.site88.net, although it wouldn't be difficult to write a program like you're saying, if only you could change stores via the URL.

HAs any one used the Homedepot version of this search program? I downloaded it but it doesn't find items that show in stock on the Home Depot website. The Lowe's program works well though

Keep an eye on the Hitachi cordless tools, they seem to have come out with updated models over the past few months, and some deals are still out there. I stopped in Florence, SC this morning and found a WH18DSAL impact driver for $45. Out the door was $43 after 10% discount. Anyone in the area may find it worthwhile to try getting the 12v impact driver they have on display marked at $25. I asked about it and the hardware associate told me it was a non-working display; I was on the road and figured I pass it up. Maybe Hitachi does things differently, but half of my PC tools were once store display.

Anyway, Lumberton, NC has some 12v drills on clearance, but again all I saw were displays. A few stores along the I-95 corridor, including one of the Fayetteville stores and the o e in Roanoke Rapids, had the 3-piece 12v combo for $55.

I bought one a few weeks back and have used it a bit. Worth the $$, especially at $99. I used a coupon and paid about $120.

I have one of these. I bought it last Thanksgiving for about the same price. I have really enjoyed having it, it is a good shop vac, but you should know that the 1.25 inch hoses are too small for anything except dust. bigger debris will clog it. the actual nozzle is a standard size which is larger than 1.25 inches. We bought a replacement hose set and I got the larger hose size, think it was 2 inch. I think I paid $25-30 for replacement hoses on Amazon though. still it's a good deal. I just wish there was a neat way to organize those hoses when it's not being used. Everything gets in the way.
