my lowes has all kobalt open stock swivel sockets and crowsfeet on clearance.
as well as all kobalt and blue hawk wrenches, all blue hawk tool kits, and a good majority of pass thru sockets and ratchets as well as regular square drive extensions.

my guess is getting rid of all the taiwan part #s for china stuff?

Yeah, that compressor is a good price, but it seems like it'd be worth the extra $30 or so for a better one.

Local stores in Wisconsin are clearing out old stanley fat max extreme tape measures with the bigger front hook. I picked up some 16 footers for $5 and 25 footers for $6.24.

I purchased yesterday at the Streetsboro, OH Lowe's the Kobalt 11 pc, metric, 3/8" drive, 6 point, socket set. It was originally priced $13.48. It had in the store a "new lower price" yellow tag of $9.98. The socket set was made in Taiwan. Here is the link to the socket set on the Lowe's website: LINK.

I noticed the hand tools that "stage20" referenced above were not clearanced at the Streetsboro Lowe's store but just had a yellow "new lower price" tag.

24 piece 3 in 1 ratchet set on clearance for $13.73, down from $24.97. Item number 0670003. Ratchet is one of the 3 in 1 and isn't worth much, but there are some 1/4 and 1/2 inch sockets and a couple of extensions.

Lowes has sucked lately for deals around here.
Found this, but it didn't interest me. The bag costs $50 to get a free $50 pliers set.

The bag itself does not look worth the $50 price tag alone, but with the free pliers set it's not a bad deal. Anyone know where these Southwire pliers are made? If it's China, I'll say this deal *****.

Either China or Taiwan. I am 100% sure they are not USA. I remember Lowes used to carry Knipex and clearenced them out for the new "Southwire" brand.

South wire *****, I use wire strippers everyday at work I misplaced my normal cutter (ideal brand) and bought a pair of south wire and hated them. I wish lowes still carried ideal cutters.

I found nails on clearance this evening at the Preston/Bush tollway location in Dallas (Plano?). There was a partially filled pallet with different type of nails in plastic tubs and boxes. I looked at one of the clear tubs and it contained collated nails in a spiral. They did not look like roofing nails to me. Cost - $3.00. They had been hand marked down twice. They were located at the northern end of the tool area. I didn't buy any so they are all still there.

Mostly I find lowes deals through the imternet. Lately lowes has been dry on deals but I'd say a few months and they will be back with some good ones.

The problem with Lowes is that it's very rare that they will sell anything for under "their price".

Aside from occasional deals on Kobalt stuff and Blue Hawk (garbage), finding a huge discount is kind of a blessing. Only once did I ever find a huge discount at my local Lowes, which was a Southwire Linesman pliers for like $1.50, which also happened to be "nowhere to be found" when I ordered it online. (yea, I learned my lesson on that one, the employee probably snagged it and cancelled my order).

So ya, you can find some good deals, but don't expect nearly as many huge discounts as Home Depot.

32 piece stainless palm ratchet for $4.99, regularly $20.

Slightly gimmicky, but a good mini set. Got one for my 'go bag' and one for my son.

Got my first really good Lowes deal in a while and wanted to brag.

Someone had special ordered a case of 30x24 filtrete air filters and returned them. I need this size, and Lowes doesn't normally carry this size in store, so I nabbed the case for $35 marked down from $106. I did a little forensic work and uncovered 8 clearance tags under the $35 tag where it had slowly worked its way down in price since May 6.

A little off topic, so I apologize in advance - That's a good deal on those filters, but just FYI for anyone needing air filters: MERV filtration ratings are a regulated standard. Filtrete filters are normally grossly overpriced, yet they're really the only thing you can find in the box stores. I usually buy NordicPure air filters by the case off Amazon. You can get like 12 filters for $60 or so. Air filters are certainly one thing where you can get a lot more if you go off-brand.

Awesome. I use 30x24s and HD is the only place around here that carries them.

I get the NordicPures as well off Amazon. Also if you're lucky you can find them in Amazon Warehouse as well. I was able to find 2 cases of Merv10 that are normally $40 each for $25 TOTAL. The only issue with them was the corner on the box was slightly smushed in and one filter in each box was slightly creased. A little hand work and they are good as new.
