Got mine in Bartlett IL. Was here for work and needed some supplies and happened upon the clearance section. I pretty much only use metric and only got it because of them being 6pt. Plus the ratchet by itself retails for like 25. I have a 40PC SAE and MM Kobalt set I got a few years ago on Closeout for 19.99. But they are all 12pt. These sets live in my service van and only get used once in a while.

This may have been discussed before, but I went by Lowes and they had the Kobalt 1/4 and 3/8 sockets on sale for $4.98 and $9.98 respectively. These are made in Taiwan and are excellent quality. I have been slowly filling up a toolbox for my 7yo son and couldn't resist buying him a metric and SAE set of both 1/4 and 3/8. After comparing them to my V code USA Craftsman socket, I think the Kobalt is better quality. The machining and chrome is much better quality. Here is a link:

1/4 Metric:

http://www.lowes.com/pd_338637-25428-85218___?productId=3438036&pl=1&Ntt=kobalt+socket+set

3/8 Metric:

http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay...gId=10051&cmRelshp=rel&rel=nofollow&cId=PDIO1
I checked those out today.

For 1/4" sockets, I like the Stanley cantilever toolbox + 1/4" metric and fractional socket kit that you can get at Walmart for $12.67.

The 3/8 Metric and Fractional 11-pc sets looked nice enough -- but at $10 compared to the normal price of $13, I wasn't too enthusiastic about the sale price. I'll wait for a better sale.

612839 senco 1 gal compressor, for my store shows $39.60 in the search results, but when I open the product page it shows $257.89. What's up with that?

http://www.lowes.com/pd_612839-2149...=50283591&Ns=p_product_price|1&pl=1&Ntt=senco

I'm waiting for the online chat to pop up to see if I can get it for 39.60

Edit: found another problem like this. This time logged into the Gilford, NH store, the search results show Senco Roofing Nailer 423981 for $183.20 and the product page shows $295.41.

Nice find! How much does the whole kit weigh?

Mmm maybe 25 pounds for the whole box

Worked out perfect for me. I was in the market for a cheap inflator for the kiddie pool. I don't want the wife touching my Ridgid compressor lol. This one is probably better anyway, but being a 1 gallon I don't think it will serve any use for my projects, other than inflating tires. I'm sure it works fine for brad nailers or pin nailers though.

On that note, you guys should all keep an eye on any Senco products at your local stores. Nails, nailers, collated screw gun, compressors. Lowes is dropping the whole Senco brand. Every Senco product at my store is on clearance. The compressor was the only good deal though. Everything else is 10% to 30% off.

On the website, do a search for "Senco" and filter for "in stock only", check all of your local stores

Got the hotdog and 18g brad nailer for $19.80. there were 7 in stock. the employees didn't know about the deal until i bought one, with the intent to leave 6 behind for other people. then the employees scrambled and took the other 6, so nobody else got any.

i hate it when store employees screw customers like that.

I try not to be greedy and "grab a few" of anything unless I seriously need more than one. i think it's good karma to take only what you need, and leave the rest behind so that someone else can find a great deal. i was disappointed that the store employees sucked up the last 6 units before i even made it to checkout with one unit in my cart.

thanks to spn for the heads-up. :)

Yeah, something about that just doesn't sit well with me either.

Did that... the only store in my area that had them, still showed full price on the "in stock only" filter.... weird because all other Senco items were discounted.

I get the impression that when inventory sells out, the lowes store moves the price back up to the full price. This is essentially the same thing that HD has started doing with inactive SKUs after they have pennied out. it prevents return/rebuy.

If you knew what most of the employees made you would realize they don't buy the great deals, because they don't make enough to afford them.

Not all employees are that way, but many are.

When I worked there (because I had 2 jobs) I would buy up the deals and share with family and friends

if the deal is that good they will notice when you check out. You can try to find an 18 year old girl at the register that might not care, but it is most likely going to be noticed. But I don't really mind. The employees are people too.

This years clearance finds have helped a struggling family in the process or losing their house get a few thousand dollars, helped a young kid down the street just starting out get a great Dewalt set and other tools, helped a family building a new home get a Weber grill they wanted, and helped me go on vacation (and continue to feed my shopping addiction).

If you only want one, that's fine. But it isn't always such a bad thing to buy several, or even all of them.

back on topic... it looks like Lowes is starting back up again... here we go!

Not criticizing at all but didn't you buy a pallet of sprayers and all the Milwaukke boxes? You could have left some for others at that store ;);););)

How did they know about the deal before you checked out? Was it not posted at the price in the store? Did an employee scan the bar code for some reason before you got to the checkout?

Man for 19.80 I would have bought them all for friends that wanted or people on here. Even with shipping it would be worth it.

Congrats to all you finding them. It has tough finding deals at Lowes unless they are clearing out an entire brand, but even here when they switched nailers there were no great deals.

Senco has been gone since they reset nail guns about a month ago. I never did see the hot dog comp.

You are attempting to create Drama in Hot Deals and I want no part of it.

For the record:

SPRAYERS

I bought SIX sprayers. I used one for roundup, one for weed killer and one for bug killer. When you offered to buy one of them, I told you that my plans were to give the remaining three sprayers to family members as gifts. Your comment that I bought "a pallet of sprayers" is not anywhere close to being accurate.

MILWAUKEE TOOLBOXES

Yes, I bought "all of the $199 Milwaukee toolboxes" that I found in my area -- both of them. That's right -- I drove to 18 stores, I found ONE toolbox on clearance in 1 of the 18 stores, and I found ONE toolbox on clearance in another 1 of the 18 stores. I visited 18 stores and I brought home TWO toolboxes from two different stores, and I'm using them both.

I don't appreciate the misrepresentation about my buying habits. Because I don't want to get pulled into any drama I am not going to respond with commentary about anyone else's buying habits -- I'm sticking to posting about deals that I have found.

@coral I guess the way I was inflecting what I was trying to say didn't come across the typed words the way it would have if I said it out loud.

I'm the last person to attack someone. Just trying to kid. Sorry won't happen again.

I did add multiple winky faces!
