Lowe's electrical tool reset coming? Klein?

It'd be nice if Lowe's kept, and expanded, the Ideal line. If that happened, between them and HD, there'd be a local brick and mortar source to get both Klein or Ideal.

I still love the selection at the supply houses, but pricing is sometimes out of line with reality, and hours are limited.

Well I guess we will see if this actually happens. I do know one thing. I will never own a southwire tool. I just bought a set of ideal crimper $29.99. The southwire crimper next to it same price. I would choose the ideal tool every day of the week as most professional electricians.

I won a used pair of 30-429 crimpers on eBay tonight :D

Yeah you're gonna love those. after a little cleanup and some light sanding if they have any rust and they'll be good as new. Those make some pretty crimps. Comfortable too.

I am almost 100% positive that Ideal used to make the old Blue Point branded crimper for Snap On. I had a couple sets years ago. But I remember mine had orange handles. I'm also pretty sure my angled crimper branded blue point are ideal made. Here is an example of the regular non angled crimper.

I think you're right. I've noticed the similarities as well. Even in the current Snap On plier type crimpers. I have an old Blue point pair as well and they're my second favorite set. Good wide crimp dies on the old Blue Points. Here's mine from work.

The ones you showed look like the current ones. The ones in the eBay add are older. I think mine were from the late 90s early 00s. They also had orange handles not red. The only ones I didn't loose were my angled versions. I'm glad too because they don't make them and they hardly ever show up on ebay.

Yeah you're right about my blue points being the newer style. They even have a Snap Onish part number. I think they're from right before they just started labeling them Snap On. The old BP's were identical.

As great as it is to have Klein back in stores, I'd love it if Lowes would bring back Knipex. I cleaned my local stores out when they cleared out Knipex a couple years back, and i did the same when my local Sears store closed.

This will only be my 5th or 6th pair of this kind of crimper...Klein, Channellock, T&B, Snap-on (2)...I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM...

In my lowes in central "Ahia" the place was fully stocked floor to ceiling with Southwire tools. Not sure if that was the answer you were looking for in your post question?

I wouldn't hit a fat hog in the *** with a pair of Southwire pliers. What a joke. Even if Lowe's does in fact drop Southwire as they should, I'll still hold a slight grudge against them for thinking I am really so stupid that I'd pay full USA made Klein prices for a China made swine vomit tool brand pulled straight from some marketing director's ***. Apparently they thought we wouldn't notice and they would make out like bandits. Well piss on them.

Unfortunately....That's the direction we are headed.. Look at how willing some are to pay Snap-on prices for Snap- chONg.. cinkaneeze snap on tools..Mac..Matco..doing the same... And the kids coming out of the tech schools don't care about COO... We are the last of the people that care about that.... So i guess time will tell..If whats coming out of the "marketing directors a55"..will fly.. So far the Snap-on fan club hasn't felt a thing...lol
