I was reading a post on Pirate BBS and someone mentioned that a kerosene heater was $60.** down from $120.**. So I checked their site and low and behold my heater I just bought (Dec. 5) was 50% off!

So I packed up my 30k torpedo propane heater and went to Lowes and returned it. Good thing I saved the box and receipt. Got my $105.** back and got a 30-55k propene torpedo for $10 less than my original 30K.

All of their heaters are all 50% off!

I almost got the 85-125k propane torpedo for $114.** but I lacked a 40-100 lb. tank so I settled for the 30-55k propane.

They have big monster kerosene heaters as well as alot of electric ones too. I can't believe they are chopping prices already since it hasn't hit the cold part of winter yet here in Ohio.

BTW, I had to go to a different store because the model I wanted wasn't there. They had the floor model but I wanted a new one for the price I was paying.:bounce:

Better hurry because I don't think the stock will last long. At least not the smaller models.

I used my new heater tonight with the outside temp being 20. Warmed the the garage great. The 30-55 btu heater is definately better than my previous 30 k btu heater. Better built and really puts out the heat. The 30k btu torpedo is a decent unit especially for the current price but the 30-55k is superior. Any heater is better then none though. Get em while you can!

Last night I hit the other Lowes in the area - they were completely sold out of heaters, but had 90% (!) off a lot of lawn and garden stuff. Picked up a bunch of fertilizer and a spool of line for the string trimmer.

Picked up a 55,000 BTU kerosene heater for $99, heats 1200sq ft, works real quick in heating up my 400 sq ft garage. Also works real well in heating up cold pizza.:bounce:

I'll get one tomorrow. You rock!

I ended up not buying one: Found a small local hardware chain that sells a good sized electric heater for $60. Plan on picking one up very soon.

They just installed one in our part's department at work, and it puts out enough heat to keep the whole area up by the counter warm. If it can do that, it'll warm my 2-car garage quite easily.

My big thing is I don't want to have to worry about ventilation with a kerosene heater, and I don't have any gas lines anywhere in my home. So electric it is... ;)
