Lowes - New Free Parcel Shipping program, no min.

I saw this over at SD and thought you all would be interested. Lowes is offering free parcel shipping for their MyLowes members. (if you have a Lowes login you're a MyLowes member).

There is no minimum order threshold!! It's parcel shipping only. (not truck deliveries).

I just ordered a set of Bosch jigsaw blades to test out the program. Lowe's price was $5.98 (Amazon w/Prime was around $12). The set is shipping from a nearby store and will arrive tomorrow vis FedEx. (one day delivery)

Maybe Lowe's is trying to out do Amazon with hardware related items.

Lowes also has now a link on their website that allows military whether active, retired or veteran to verify their info online and sync with their mylowes card. This way it is in Lowes computer so when you check out you don't have to show military ID each time.

In addition, military also gets 10% off online orders as well. I had an issue registering online but I went to my local Lowes and customer service took care of it for me. Are you paying attention Home Depot?

This is really great. I'd still need to add items to the cart to see if it qualifies though. I'm sure there are exclusions especially if its an odd-sized item.

I just placed an online order for $12.78 from Lowes and not only did they give me the military discount they also gave me free shipping so I guess it does work! Delivery in 1-3 business days.

Nice...I wonder how quick the shipping is. I probably utilize store pick up more than anything when buying from Lowes.

I do too as long as they stock what I need. It just so happens what I needed was only available in their online store. I'll try to remember to post when my order arrives.

Two orders placed so far. Each one came in 1 business day.

It appears they're shipping from a local store vs. distribution center warehouse.

That's nice... Better than doing the free ship-to-store, which they use these 3rd party delivery services anyhow so why not just deliver to the customers house directly?

So what's the trick to this? I've added several items to my cart, and every single one says "Parcel Shipping Unavailable for this order." Does it only work if you have the store closest to you input into your order?

ETA - I think I figured it out. It doesn't let you ship anything that's on sale. If it's got the green "Save **%" price discounts, you can't ship it.

I ordered item on 05/08. I called yesterday (05-15) to check status of my order since their website said 1-3 business days to receive item. I was told the item I ordered was on backorder.

I never received an email or any correspondence from Lowes. This sounds preposterous to me. Order an item they say is available and when I check on item they say it's backordered. I just cancelled order.
