Today I scored big time, without even trying. And this isn't a Lowes deal you'd find in your clearance section.
I was at work (Lowes) and happened to walk by the entrance door to get some fresh air, when a contractor who frequents came in with a bag of stuff to return. I walk over and I'm chatting with him while he starts to take out electrical wire, fittings, and out comes 3x Irwin 1/4" hex shank 12" extenders, a 1/2" 12pt Kobalt comb, two 5/8s", a 1/2", and two 7/16s".
The first thing I notice is they're ALL NOS, and both the 5/8"s and 7/16"s had different chrome finishes, and different lenghts. Right away I was waiting for them to be returned so I could see if I could ****** them up at NOS prices.
Apparently they wouldn't let him make another return because he's returned to many items in to few time, and since he didn't have any proof of purchase they were going to give him clearanced prices on it since it's NOS.
He told me he was to lazy to call and sign up as a contractor to make him eligible for more returns so he'd put them back in his truck where he'd forget about them for another FIVE years
(makes sense on why the NOS).
As he's leaving I explained the small refund price is due to it being NOS and clearanced many months/years ago to sell cheap Taiwan garbage, after explaining it, he goes hell it seems like you actually would use the things, take em. And handed me the hole lot of em.
Too me the Irwin speedbor extensions were like a bonus
