I just saw at my local Lowe's 2 fluke meters. The 110plus and the 323 clamp meter. They are also selling a set of fluke leads as well. Both are priced at129.99. The 110 is basically a 115 minus the ability to test amperage. I wonder if the southwire meters have flopped and are not selling well. I also saw a fluke non contact voltage tester for 29.98.

Interesting, I'll have to go by and look at the lead set. I've been eyeing some but wanted to see them in person. Do you recall what lead set they had?

Odd that fluke would even make a meter that can't test amperage. Ability to test volts, amps, and ohms should be standard for all meters.

Don't remember which lead set it was. It was $29.99 is all I remember.

Thanks, I'll go check it out.

Odd also that in 3 pages of results I couldn't find anyone else that carries it, and this:c23afe9c33fcfb420192783573bdd5b6.jpg

Not saying specifically this is the case, but the 110 model might be a Lowes only product. Lesser cost, etc... The big box stores do that often. As an example I own a weather station that is made by Acurite. In the model number there are two letters, BP. it means Bass Pro. I bet you a buck it is a cheapened version just for bass pro. I also own a Philips TV. WM in the model number. You guessed it Wal Mart... So perhaps Lowes said, hey FLUKE, we want a Fluke meter but let's trim some cost, drop some features, etc. WALLA the 110 appears. Again just a theory

Yes that's exactly what I was thinking, that it was a cheapened Lowe's exclusive. I've been told that some manufacturers will actually provide stuff to WM that is indistinguishable from the "real" version, even by model number. I'd hate to think any of our trusted tool makers would do that.

Something else is fishy. If you google the fluke 110 most places say discontinued. But LOWES has a 110 PLUS. Seams odd to me.... Especially since the FLUKE website has nothing on the 110 plus.

The Fluke 110 is a just a discontinued model, one of my techs has one. It wasn't a Lowe's exclusive.

Maybe it was brought back to be a Lowes product ? Like I said it's a true rms dmm without the ability to do a current draw test(amperage). Looks like the 115 minus the extra lead hole.

This is pretty accurate, it's a very good meter. I have no idea if they brought it back for Lowe's. Is it square-ish or have the head taper like the 115? The (old at least) 110 doesn't taper at the head around the screen. The case also holds the leads wider than the body of the case, the Fluke 115 is behind the body.

Do any GJ Members have any dislikes after using the 110 or 115 meters?

No doubt they are both good meters; but if You had to buy a new meter today; what features//reasons//price would make a Fluke Your choice..?

Looks like a 116 without microamps and temperature. For an extra $20 the 116 seems like a better value.

The 115 works fine I think, I know someone using it to fix TVs. However I am looking at the 17x series as they have lifetime warranty (and made in the USA I believe but I am not 100% sure).

Thanks LB, so it looks like the 110 plus isn't a new 110 but a rebadged 114. I cannot tell the difference between the 110 plus and the 114.

I've used the old 110 and the 115...if you aren't needing to test amperage, you can't really tell a difference. The 115 isn't that much more(around $150) so if you think you might benefit from being able to test amperage, get that. The thing about Fluke is, everything they make is good. Buy what you expect you will need tomorrow and a year from now and a decade from now because it will work and be accurate for a long time.

Bump because I actually had more time to read the Lowe's description... It appears that the 110 plus is not a new version of the 110 or a 115 without amperage but it appears it's almost identical to the 114. I can't find a difference between the 110 plus and the 114 but there is limited information on the 110 plus. The 115 doesn't have autovolt but can test Hertz, amperage, capacitance and has diode check. The 110 didn't have autovolt or a lighted screen but could test hz, capacitance and has diode check.

Agree. And the 114 can be had at a better price thru Zoro during a 25% off sale.

That said I still think the 116 is more bang for the buck.

The Fluke meters are what I consider reasonably priced... Sounds like the GJ community has praise for them.... Sounds like the only negative to a Fluke meter is the black test lead.

Agreed, you get more features and it's $125 on Amazon. I like the temperature feature, I'd probably buy one right now at $125 if I didn't have a perfectly good 115 and two backups. I think MSRP on the 116 is the same as the 115, around $150.

I think they should have just brought in the 115. They used to sell the 113 which I got on clearance for $20 when Lowes stopped selling them. The 115 is good all around entry level meter.

I dunno man, not saying there is nothing else in the world as good as my Fluke, but I sure as **** havent seen one. Not everyone needs one, but if you're an electrician by trade they're pretty mandatory.

FLUKE has made many entry level meters over the years without AMPs functionality.

Quite frankly, unless you are doing circuit design and testing, hardly ever needed. Did avionics troubleshooting and repair for close to 30 years and can count on one hand the amount of times I needed an amp measurement.

That's the goddamned truth.
