Hi guys, I’m just about to get started on siding my shop. Walls are 2x6, 16” on center, 5/8” osb sheathing. I purposely sized the shop so there would be little waste of materials (40x72). I’m using LP diamond kote siding in board and batten. This will be mainly 4x10 sheets but I’ll use 16” wide x 16’ for taller vertical sections.
My question is how do you address the spacing requirement (3/16” between sheets) without the siding growing? Every 5 sheets would put you almost an inch off. The battens will be spaced every 16” on every stud. The “growing” would push you off the studs eventually and the battens would not come out evenly at the other end. I really don’t want to rip every sheet and paint the edge if I’m missing something. Thank you!
