What would be the best way to clean a few spots of rust before I paint the bottom of the car? It is mostly these four spots that are going to be hard to get at with a grinder, etc... I would say sand blast but a) i don't have one b) it is in the garage and would get really messy.
I would like to do it while it is up on my lift rather than rolling it outside. I could buy a small blaster...
Let me know some suggestions. This is really the worst of the rust on the car so I am pretty happy with it

Awesome swap, I am on LS1 tech also but with a different user name. I will be swapping a 6.0 into my 66 nova or if I buy another 70 Nova. Did your T56 just fit or dod you have to cut your tunnel out as most people have to do? On the rust issue, is it just surface or has it turned into rust that can chip or fall off. I would grind it off or down, use some olspho on the bare metal and treat with undercoating. that rust doesnt look too bad. Oh also nice mounts, nothing like saving money to make your own, but I doubt anyone makes them for your car anyhow. Are you doing your own harness? Did the fbody pan fit? Did the exhaust manifolds fit also? If they did you are lucky as that saves time & money

haha yeah a surprise is the goal. I want the exhaust to be as quiet as possible without choking the motor. I would like it to sounds like a CTS-v or something like that. factory quiet

Another 'tech and thirdgen.org member here. I'm in the process of building an LS3-headed 403 for my IROC. :)

I've been seeing more and more LS swaps in Bimmers. Seems like a perfect marriage.

LS swaps have become very popular over the last few years, I tune pcms for ALOT of swaps.... Every so often i will have someone putting one in something like a ford taurus or something hahahahahahaha!

Nice build, they are alot of fun and can be done quite cheap now!

jakeb- somewhat off topic but who makes that load leveler you used and how do you like it?? I know we've had a few topics on load levelers but the info about them wasn't the greatest.

I got mine at harbor freight and it looks just like that one.

So sick. I love it. My wife was watching some movie with Ashton Kutcher (SP?) and he drove a beautiful blue E28.

Is that going to throw off the front to back weight ratios? Those things are balanced to corner, not drag.

Nice -

I love motor swaps, and the LS Series is awesome for it. We did an LS1 in an E46 Wagon about 6 years ago that ripped like no other -

It had all the amenities (A/C, Power Steering, Etc) and even had all the gauges in the BMW cluster that worked flawlessly. It was one of my favorite cars we built.

Great Job on the E28 - Post up some burn out video when you get it on the road!

The balance should be just about the same as stock. The LS1 really isn't that much heavier.

The load leveler is a HF one but i cut the stock handle off and welded on an old socket with a 1/2 receiver so I could use an air wrench on it
