Hey guys, pretty new here, but not new to tool collecting/ using.

Just got myself a 1/2 drive and 3/8 drive 84 tooth Craftsman Premium ratchets, which are 110% better then the old raised panels iv been using. I promptly cracked them open, like anyone else would right?

I'm now wondering what lube would be best for these finer tooth ratchets. I use Super Lube in my RPs. I have all kinds of different stuff out in the garage, Super Lube, RLL, gun oil, Lucas Red n Tacky, gear oil etc...

Any opinions?

Try each on and see what works best for you. I heard that RLL works well with the fine tooth ratchets.

As I recall, the factory lube of Armstrong ratchets, of which this one must be very similar, is marvel mystery oil. I would just use Breakfree or similar.

MMO is the factory lube for these, as mentioned above.

Permatex RLL works better for coarse tooth than fine tooth, in my experience. I used RLL in my Craftsman premiums, and I don't like how the 1/2 drive feels with it. I am going to clean them and try the MMO at some point.

I do love these ratchets, though. Way underappreciated by the masses.
