I suggest way oil only on the leadscrews. It is the only lube I have ever used on mine and is what all the central lubed units used. A bit on the screw before assembly run in and out to the ends is not a bad idea. Definitely don't install the whole thing dry, give it a little lube first, but no grease.

Zerk fittings on machine equipment are for way oil not grease. Grease holds swarf and dirt which turns into lapping compound, oil will flush the grime out. Not to mention the tolerances are too tight for grease to lubricate properly.

There are oilers out there designed to fit them. I use a German grease gun that I cleaned out and filled with Vactra.

Enough. Too much. Pump until you see evidence, it's hard to say. Oil never wore anything out!
