I have a kra-510 ? Set and the drawer slides are a little sticky. Does anyone have any good recommendations for lubing them?

Ball bearing or just friction ? If the slides are completely removable I have found that the best thing is to take them off and clean them real good first. Then just a light oil of some type. If they are not removable I try to spray them clean with brake clean or similar first.

Brake clean is hard on the paint. Looks like that box has friction slides. Over the last 30 years I have tried just about every lube there is. just Use whatever you have handy. An acid brush works great to paint said lube into the grooves. Spray lubes are a bit messy.

if friction slides, then strips of teflon tape (the thick kind that woodworkers use, not the plumber's stuff) can help if you can fit it in there

Thank you for your suggestions. Is there a good way to clean the slides first?

Just the other day, I ran into the same problem. I removed the slides from the cabinet and cleaned them in paint thinner since it disolves the grease. A mud mixing pan tilted on a block of wood allowed me to wet the entire slide. A chip brush is good to scrub the rails and ball bearings where exposed. Move the slider while in thinner, drip the excess, and then I rinsed them in a tub full of water based degreaser, then rinsed with water. They seem to move well now and are awaiting some kind of new lube, before going back in the box. The stationary part attached to the drawers is hard to remove, so I think I will clean them with a rag and paint thinner since access is easier. The old lube feels sticky like honey. I wanted to use a dry lube after cleaning, but I am not sure if I got the slides clean enough. Maybe I will try and if all else fails, I can later use oil based lube.

I just did mine, cleaned them with degreaser then sprayed some dry Teflon lube.

We'll see how long it lasts.

Snap on recommends rubbing on parafin wax. Sadly with the upgrade of the web site my link to the Snap On maintenance manual no longer works. Clean the slide first though
Looks like it is gone forever......all the albums are gone, but here is the pertinent sheet.

Two things to absolutely NOT use is lithium spray or any of the liquid sprays that turn to grease. The lithium turns to concrete and the liquid to grease turns to glue.
