Talk about luck, I am in NJ and yet found this mint Snap-On KRL761 being offered for the amazing price of $1000. It just happens to be in Minnesota, but the kind seller is willing to ship it to NJ at no cost to me AND allow me 7 days to inspect it, and if I am not satisfied I can return it at the seller's expense...I mean how lucky can one guy get....

Sounds like a hoax to me, is all the promised shipping and such happening before or after you pay him?

You are lucky on this find a near mint condition SO box for $1000 shipped plus 7 day inspection period. Be aware too that this is too good to be true and I'm suspicious of this offer.

Whats funny is I bet you can find those pics on ebay. There is a seller there from Delaware that sells many second hand Snap On boxes, and his pics look like those. I'd bet theyre his pics.

I don't know why you bother checking craigslist in NJ for Snap On boxes. Everyone here seems to think their used junk is worth 20%-50% more than you can buy it new off the Snap On truck for.

And I'm sure he's got a couple of them too lol. Seriously though, these "ads" must have some sort of success rate cause people keep putting them up. Just imagine, some where there's some dipshit waiting on his $1000 toolbox to arrive.

You mean this guy? Who seems to have a lawn exactly similar to the pictures OP posted?

There was another thread a few days ago about cheap drill presses being advertised on the left coast. Some people replied to the ads, but never got responses. So, i wonder if some of it isn't just to try to get your money, but also to get your email address or other contact info to sell. Maybe both.

My favorite is when they text you asking for an email to be sent to an address that has nothing to do with the persons name thanking you at the end of the message.

"brendanni1@gmail thanks Elizabeth"

I saw that ad posted this week and flagged it immediately. Said please email at this email which is a huge red flag by itself. Also had a weird title like snap-on box with lot's of drawers. I hope this is a just a joke because this is a huge scam!

A Nigerian Prince who's getting out of the Snap-On biz needs to sell some product to recoup some money.

Actually come to think of it, there are some pretty, well, not so smart people on this forum. Remember when everyone thought I was a jerk because I told people that they were being scammed????

Often it is easy to spot the scammers if you are using Chrome for a browser by right clicking and then hitting "search web for this image." You can find the original that way. :)

I saw that one advertised as in Missouri. Seller said all the same stuff & that they wanted to do the transaction through ebay for both our safety. Sent me a listing where none of the links worked. I called ebay & they said it wasn't a real listing. I forwarded it to them & fwiw they were going to seek legal action.

Many years ago I came across a to-good-to-be-true ad on CL with a what sounds like the same type of sales tactics. Delivered to my door from out of state and to make the purchase on eBay. Then I watched the news and they did a story about a couple buying a vehicle from what sounded like the same thing. The so called seller was not in the USA and USA law did not protect the buyer from out of country sellers. Needless to say the news reporter said they took several thousands of dollars from the couple and did not give them a vehicle. To add insult to injury the would be buyer was a disabled person who really needed a vehicle. The so called seller cleaned out all their money and left them in a mess while being disabled. It is hard to handle what some of these cruel people do to others.

I saw an ad on CL last week for a black KRL that look just like that one (different pics though) for $1000. Ad was down before I could respond to it.

On a side note, I "found" a Snap-on 3/8" ratchet with a 3/4" socket on it that I had "misplaced" a couple years ago the other day. I had already replaced them but felt pretty lucky :)

I assumed something was up but figured I'd see where things went. Shame that people fall for these things.

A fool and his money soon go separate ways. They probably responded to one of those ads where they show a stock photo of a mint 2 or 3 year old vehicle for 1/3 the KBB price.
