I have a Lufkin measuring tool that I believe measures in thousands, but not sure what it is used for or how to use it?

Almost looks like a depth mic. But I have no idea.

That is a standard micrometer head in a custom mount. Commonly used for positioning or a stop.

I have one around here somewhere. When I got it, it had backed out of the base, and the seller made a deal based on the odd range it measured. Reseated it, and it was more logical.
