Hi again all

Thank you to all who have been helping me identify stuff my father collected. Here's another item we found stuck in the back of his workshop. We think it's probably a luggage rack, but we're not positive. Even if we're right, we can't possibly figure out what it's to without your help.

Again, thanks in advance for all your help.

Boy that's ugly! I'd gladly take it off your hands if need the space!!!! It would look even worse on the back of the family '36 ford sedan.

It goes to a Model A Ford-I have one on the back of my sedan. It has the short attachment steel so something that has no spare tire on the rear of the car.

My father-in-law built a 1911 Ford Touring car. Could this be to that? We still have the car but the Mrs. is NOT ready to sell it.

Nope it is for a Model A. He may have had it in the wings ready to modify the brackets in the future though. Some people are very handy with tools and if was anything like my Grandfathers, he could make anything fit anything.

Thank you 1930. That is very helpful. Any idea what this should sell for? We don't really have a use for it.

Get a copy of Hemmings Motor News, look under "Accessories", it will give you a rough price of what they're going for. There's also a couple online forums - one is Fordbarn.com, another is the one the MAFCA runs, post your there, and you'll likely get a couple honest answers, and a couple "We'll take it off your hands for you" answers...

And no, it won't fit the T - I have seen some rack setups that would fit (a friend has a '22 touring) that one won't work. (OTOH, if you have one of the "accordion" ones that screw down to the runningboard, those do work...)

BTW, I have a '15 touring - fun cars, and probably the most reliable of the cars we have. ;)

Bratton's sells them brand new for $145. check craigslist or ebay for a going rate. If you really want it gone fast sell it for around $100 or less.

Don't take lesss than what its worth. I had a guy try to sweet talk me out of a $3500 racing head for a T because I looked like a "I dunno what its worth" girl to him. Unfortunately for him, I actually *did* know it was worth more that $100. --shrug--

What someone sells something new for (as a repop) is far less than what NOS is worth. I'll give you a Franklin for it if you want it gone myself... but I'll feel like **** about it. But if you need it (and the rest of your daddys stuff) gone, PM me and we'll talk.

Sus @ the forge.
