Fall may end up being the best time of the year to buy materials, but fall is a terrible time to build in Minnesota. I've done my fair share of construction work in the rain and snow when it is 35 degrees out, but it ***** big time. Productivity drops significantly. I usually won't work in the rain, but I have been forced to like when I scheduled a power cut to replace my electrical service at home. I wasn't going to reschedule the power company, the electrical inspector, my day off, and my helper due to some rain. Snow can be easier to deal with.
