If it is just for storing your yard tools, then a single four foot, two bulb fluorescent or LED shop light would work fine mounted in the center of the ceiling.

That is what I have in my 10'x16' shed. It has just enough light so I can see everything when it is dark. I have an LED four foot shop light in there so that even in the wintertime when it is cold/freezing it will light up.

I had a four foot fluorescent shop light that worked great, but if the temperature got below freezing it would take longer for it to get bright than the amount of time I was just going in and out of the shed to get a snow shovel or whatever.

As for lumen output, that all depends on you. The older people get the more light their eyes require to see. The LED shop light that I have says it puts out 5000 lumens, and I can tell that it is much brighter than the old fluorescent shop light it replaced, even after I put new fluorescent bulbs in it.

For a small(8' x 10') storage shed how many lumens would I need? Only storage for yard tools and such.

If that's the only intended use, do you need any lights at all? Unless you're going to go out in the middle of the night and rummage around for a rake or something. :) If you really do need a light, I'd be tempted to get one of those cheap battery powered LED lights they advertise on TV, or else just keep a flashlight inside the door.

Def need light fixtures.

I am "The older people..." lol.

And if the use changes I will have lights in the space.

There are no windows, even with the door open there isn't enough light to see well.

I have a 8x10 shed, ran under ground to it with a feed from my panel. For lighting I have a keyless “single incandescent bulb” with led bulb. Lights up good, not crazy bright but I can start the air compressor at night.

My 8x12 has 2 4 tube fluorescent fixtures.

Nice and bright.

Using modern LED's I would use 2 2 tube fixtures.

You want enough light bouncing around in there to see what's in the back of the bottom shelf in the corner, without adding a flashlight to the mix.

I also painted the inside of the sheathing white.

I would also install a wall mounted light outside activated from the house.

Also an outlet inside and outside.
