Well, as many of you might have expected, I received LOTS of inquiries for tools which fellow Garage Journal members wanted, during my big sorting/cleaning project. I finally had to stop cleaning for a while, and just sort, so that I could get around to answering folks. So now the tools are MOSTLY sorted.

So next I started printing out all of the tool inquiries I had received, to help me organize the process of replying to everyone. HOLY COW! :shocking: There are a LOT of them! My entire pool table is covered, as it was the only surface I had big enough to try and sort out all the PM's I had received.

I printed out all the PM messages, and then cut them apart, and wrote in black marker on the top of each sheet. So every sheet of paper you see with black ink writing at the top is one single PM requesting tools.

I tried to sort them by tool brand name. But so many folks had requested two or three brands, that it quickly became confused.

Many sheets are piled together based on the brand, or whenever one person sent several different requests.

I've got to get going on this project! People are tired of waiting, and I need to practice pool for a tournament tomorrow evening!

Wow. Unless you're going to **** us all on the prices, I think you might have done better financially spending those hours flipping burgers. :bounce:

OTOH, I'm sure this is a lot more therapeutic.. there's something zen-like in handling nice old tools.

Rich,
Yeah, handling the old tools has been theraputic. But trying to sort out and fill these orders has been the opposite. LOL. It's amazing how one can have SO MANY tools, all sorted by brand, and STILL not have lots of tools which lots of folks are searching for.

And you're right...I don't even want to THINK about how many hours I have in this project. Somewhere, Jack Vines (Packard V8) is laughing his a$$ off at me. He warned me about this months ago.

Lump,
I'm not in any big hurry either...take your time and enjoy what you're doing, don't make a hobby that you enjoy and turn into a chore. ;)

I'm not in any hurry either Lump. I didn't want to clog up your PM cache any more than it is with another PM asking if you got my request though. I don't see it in the photos above.

Thanks,
Steve

Steve,
Your PM is indeed there. (Thanks for thinking about the PM clog, by the way).

My challenge in replying to your PM is that you've asked about 4 tool brands, of which I have literally hundreds of tools in my bins. Do you happen to have any more specific lists of tools which I could search for? I would love to help fill your needs; I just don't have time to make an inventory list by those 4 brand names. I would literally take weeks.

Please don't be offended. I am delighted that you are interested in my tools. But it has taken me SO long to get to this point, that I have come to realize that I will never have a complete inventory list.

Let's talk some more; I'm sure I have some of the tools you are wanting...especially SK.

Thanks!

Sorry Lump, I can't be more specific really because my intent is to resell them, http://junkyardtools.com/ not for personal use.

Maybe if I pose the question as, if you have anything in those brands I sent LEFT OVER from the sale, then let me know what ya got and at what price.

Other than that, now that I've thought about it, I would take any 12mm or 14mm S-K sockets you have. Again, no rush though. :)

Thanks,
Steve
