Hi

I've been reading and lurking on this board for a long time. It seems like there is always a link to here on a couple of car forums I belong to.

Now my wife and I are starting construction on a new home, and I've specified a 6 car garage with ceilings tall enough for a lift. I figure I'll be on here looking for ideas throughout the construction.

Well, we just signed the contract, so we won't even have a hole in the ground for 5 or 6 weeks!

Well, while the size is a 6-car, actually it will be a 5 car, as I plan on taking 2 of the bays for the lift and workshop.

Basically and L shape, 4 cars across the front, and the rear 2 car sized section for the shop and lift.

MN: sounds nice. any pictures of your new home now that you have it under contract? i know you have maybe an inspection and some financing and title work to do, but if you've lurked here for a while you'd know we like pictures of garages, tools and stuff related and the girl pics we don't share publicly.

Nope! No pics. The contract is for new construction. Right now it's just a 1/2 acre of ground with some sage brush.

The house will be based on this plan. The third car garage is being expanded to 24' wide and the full depth of the house. So, two double garage doors on the front, and a single at the rear. The lift will be located in the rear section of the add-on. The whole garage will have 12.5' ceilings.
