I have been to this site a few times and finally decided to sign up. I am jealous of every work space I see. Some awesome garages / shops on here.
I have been living in a condo in Chicago for the last 5 years and have been working on turning a storefront in the burbs into a single family home.
The highlight of the project for me is that I have a back yard and will be able to build a 625 sf garage.
It is a 25x125 "city lot" and I have to have 5 feet in the back, 3 feet on either side, and a 1 foot offset for a sidewalk. So that leaves 18 feet width and maximize depth of 34 feet. Right now I am leaning toward 18x30
That will allow me to make a parking area (18*20) and then a workshop 18x10
More or less I will be poking around trying to figure out how to best use the space. I would love to make part of it heated, but I am guessing that will be beyond my budget.
