Lurker Looking for Ideas in AL

Joined up here looking for ideas to maximize the storage and utility of our attached garage. It is a 2 car garage, but there isn't much room on either side. Since we have a crawlspace, one side is taken up by stairs to the inside and the water heater. Other side has some shelves the previous owner built.

Plans include a coating on the floor and HOPEFULLY some kind of work bench.

But we've talked about building a detached garage to house my tools and serve as a 'shop' for my jeep and truck. This detached garage would also have an upstairs living/storage area, a greenhouse attached on the back, and a patio to the side for a swimming pool we are planning on adding. So my ideas for this garage would include better space utilization for both hand and power tools, some kind of work bench, and a provision for 240 for welding equipment should I go that route. If we go ahead with the pool, I could see the pumps, etc being in that area.

So, basically, I'm a blank slate here looking at some of the incredible ideas and implementations you folks have done and going to unceremoniously steal those that worked and will work for us. :) But I'm sure I'll have questions along the way.

I look forward to learning a lot and hopefully being able to provide input in return!

Happy Holidays!

Welcome to the forum. You can fit a lot in a 2-car.

(But that's no reason not to build a second garage. :) )
