Lutron caseta switch and dimmer

I have 2 3 way switches in my kitchen, controlling ~9 can lights with LED PAR38 bulbs.
Currently, there is a dimmer switch and a standard 3 way.

I have a spare Lutron caseta on/off switch that I’d like to install.

Can I install it in place of the regular 3 way and keep the dimmer on the other side, or will this cause problems with the Caseta switch? Google has not given me much info.

I know Lutron makes a dimmer, but I don’t really want to buy another switch if I don’t have to.

If you wire the Lutron before the dimmer it should work, that means that the 3 way switch that is there now needs to be where the power comes into the box. Chances are this may not be the case.

Unfortunately, the switch I was planning to replace is at the end of the run...

I believe you can, by redoing the wires for the Caseta switch with dimmer and using a remote Caseta switch.
The remote talks to the master which is set to control the lights on\off and dimming.
I did this over 8 years ago when I had three-way wiring and no dimming ability for flood lamps to that of dimmable LEDs.

Go and switch out the new switch.. why would you want to use that not to its full potential? I just redid my kitchen and Love the System and the flexibility it gives

When our home was remodeled the remodel contractor failed to reconnect a half hot receptacle. I suggested he use a Wireless switch as a work around. Contactor jumped on the idea as it saved him from a wall and running 20 feet of NM cable over a sliding glass Door.
