I got a quote on a luxaire furnace install for $2400 on my newly constructed 50x34 garage in Iowa

No ducting, 80%'er , 80k btu. running off propane. he is taking combustion air from inside the garage. Is this price installed fair? I'm suppose to provide a platform and he will do the rest including a short gas line ran through the exterior wall, vent, permit etc and 1 yr labor warranty.

I've been reading some good and some bad reviews on luxaire, about half and half. What are you guys thoughts on luxaire?

If your going with a 80% I’d rather have a Trane/ American Standard Freedom 80. Should be around the same price installed for what you having done.

Luxaire is a brand of Johnson Controls. They have been investing heavily in their new products and manufacturing - their quality has vastly improved, and continuing to do so. They were the first out with a 33" furnace 10 years ago, so the product is much more mature than the others on the market. I believe Luxaire is going to offer a 1 yr labor warranty as well, which I think is unique and a way to stand behind their quality investment.

As many have said before, the biggest factor in reliability is the installation.
