I recently purchased some Lyon cabinets for my garage. They were very expensive, but I was willing to pay the premium given their reputation for very high quality. My intent was (is) to keep them forever.
So the cabinets arrived this week and, as expected, they're very high quality. However, they were packed INCREDIBLY poorly, with nothing more than two thin layers of shrink wrap protecting the flat surfaces and some cardboard on the corners. As a result, there are a lot of scratches and rub marks in the paint.
I noted the damage on the bill of lading and will work with the seller on sorting it out, but these cabinets were drop shipped directly from Lyon, per the bill of lading. Who sells $1000, high quality cabinets and then wraps them with $2 worth of protective materials? I've seen better packaging from the cheap Edsal shelves I bought from Lowes.
Has anyone else purchased cabinets new from Lyon and, if so, has this been your experience as well?
I had hoped to buy an additional 5-6 cabinets to finish off the rest of my garage, but not if they're going to be packaged and shipped like these were. Any suggestions on how to prevent this from happening in the future?
