My local fastenal had Milwaukee cordless tools on sale last week so I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the m 18 fuel 1/2 drill with 2 batteries. Added on the 3/8 impact and got a free battery and work light. Spent about 500 bucks on the setup. Thought it seemed like a decent deal so I splurged on myself to replace my craftsman cordless stuff.

Did I get a decent deal?

Also, I expect big things upgrading from Cman cordless to Milwaukee. Am I out of line expecting the 3/8 impact to utterly blow the Cman out of the water on power and longevity? I have had the craftsman stuff for about 2 years now.

They were doing the $100 for any cordless item traded in towards it. A friend traded in a harbor freight drill for the 1/2 impact, the m18 stuff sure has some power.

Only thing I can compare with it I had a 18V Dewalt that died on me, went to get another and decided to switch after talking to the tool lady at home depot, she has been there forever anyway, she said most of her contractors had started switching to Milwaukee after dewalt had changed owners. so I replaced mine with the Milwaukee 18v non fuel model, I had always used Dewalt #2 bits, the Milwaukee would blow the tip off everytime I used one run about 10 screws and it would pop off the tip never had that problem with the dewalt,

They should be night and day compared to the craftsman stuff. Seems like a good deal too. I would like to upgrade my 7.2 and 14.4 3/8 snap on impacts with Milwaukee's in the near future

I too came from Craftsman C3 to the Fuel hammerdrill. Lightyears ahead of the Craftsman. The Cman was a good drill - good power and runtime. But the Fuel is a league of its own. It will twist your arm off and run all day.

The worst part is it starts an addiction...

I just wanted a smaller dealer for better warranty. I know that home Depot and Lowe's or wherever else are cheaper , but I do not have to deal with all of the hassle when it comes to warranty. Fastenal comes to my place of employment twice a week. They were also significantly cheaper than the tool truck brands. Almost 200 dollars from matco, mac, and snappy.
