Can anyone tell me what is the difference between 2680-059 and 2680-20 grinder other than weight.

Wow that is good question! Seems there is no listing on the Milwaukee site for that specific part number and the only information I can ifnd online is mostly at the Zoro site.

And the description for the -20 which is the currently available unit most everywhere shows two guards along with spanner wrenches, handle and baffles. Plus it is listed at a lighter weight and for less money go figure.

My best guess might be an earlier model run before the bare tool -20 reclassification :headscrat

One may have a switch whereas the other has a paddle. We bought 6 of the fuel grinders and 1 has a switch. Not sure if that helps or not though

In every M18 model number I've seen, the number after the dash indicates the number of batteries in the kit. From what I can tell googling that model number, the -059 seems to be an overseas version. Many of the websites that list it are in Portuguese, and I know Milwaukee does a lot of sales in Brazil. I think it's the same thing as the -20. The weight difference may just be different methods of calculating, with/without accessories etc.

Yea I'm gonna revise my post and say a foreign part number..

Looks like they designate their kits differently for how many batteries come with the tool. Where we have to -20, -21, -22 , looks like they have a -059, -159, -259.

Probably a simplified way to keep track of sales across different counties. Advertising laws and marketing may also play a role in that, but I'm just speculating.
