m12 1/4 impact problem

i have a well used m12 1/4in impact. the issue im having with it is all the sockets hold nice and tight on the anvil but none of my extensions will hold. they all fall off. im not sure if the friction ring is warn or what since the sockets hold fine. just weird how the sockets hold but the extensions dont, never had a problem like that. everytime i ware out the friction ring on something it was loose on everything.

I don't think extensions hold onto friction rings like sockets do when you're talking 1/4".

Everything fits loose on my well used 3/8" M12...

I have no issues with 3/8 stuff.

Only 1/4 extensions on my 1/4 impact. All sockets and whatnot fit fine tho which I don't get. Even new extensions fall off. They all hold fine on ratchets.

Can try opening the ring a bit. If they're loose on the square end, might want to caliper both and see what the difference is.

I'd start with replacing the friction ring.

No mine holds fine.

My 3/8 m12 impact had everything fall off of it but I sent it in for warranty replacement of the ring and now it works fine also.

yea i would understand everything but just extensions it just odd to me.

im going to try opening up the ring and if that helps ill just replace it.
