M12 2.5 and 5.0

In the last 3 weeks, I've broken 3 M12 batteries. All older units, and I can't seem to find decent case replacements for them. The ones I've bought are mediocre plastic with poor fit. Some of these batteries are 1.5ah from 2017ish, so they're ready to retire.

Has anyone got the new HO batteries? I saw them listed as having a "resistant" case, but they mostly just talk about chemical resistance. Do the cases seem beefier?

I'm thinking I want to CP sized for form factor

If I was to just buy a couple M12 batteries I think I'd opt for this deal at HD right now https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauk...Plate-M12-Battery-Rack-48-11-2442PO/325383509 I like the fact with these batteries the tool will stand up on the bench. Of all the cordless tools and brands I own including Dewalt,Makita,Bosch,Hilti,Craftsman and Milwaukee the batteries on the M12s are the hardest to remove from the tool.

I ended up with both a 2.5 & 5.0 with a tool I picked up, The run time for the 5.0 was about two weeks on one charge used with a 2554 3/8 impact. Both have somewhat different cases, hard to say on how much better they'll be, case durability wise. I did notice a couple years ago the 1.5 & 2.0 case construction was a little different then before.

For 3.0 & 4.0 broken tabs, these have been ok so far for me.

I just got a couple standard XC 4.0s at HD after watching a test of various M12 batteries including the HO versions.

The XC 4.0s seemed to be the sweet spot in performance and cost effectiveness.
I did pick up one HO CP2.5 to try on the drill and impact driver where I prefer lighter weight. I never seem to depleat the small 2.0 batteries in the drills/drivers during the course of several projects but then again it is not a work environment.

I got that twin pack kit of the 4.0 Ahr at HD for $99 a couple weeks ago. I had to search a few stores and the floor workers couldn't find them because they came in a big box which no one expected.

Those worked for me pretty well on my bigger frame batteries. I've had little luck with the small "tube" shaped batteries.
