I want one so bad, but like you mentioned I can't come to grips with the $230 CDN price tag! Air will have to do for now....

Brought home the M12 Die Grinder. So far I love it. I think its overpriced, but still like it

I love mine too. It has become one of my favorite cordless tools. Having a lifetime supply of roloc stuff, from estate sales, has made it a cheap tool. I buy up the big boxes of roloc stuff, when I find them, at estate sales.

Handy as hell but needs a lot of batteries at the ready. I bought mine thinking it’ll get used just for those short don’t wanna drag the air hose out jobs, it gets used all the time.

Price seems fair to me. I just wish it was smaller and as stated it devours batteries. I use a 6.0 and it will need a swap in about 20 minutes. Hilarious that they stick 2.0s in the kit. Fine for a hobbyist but for a professional setting handing someone a 2.0 is basically a joke.

I got mine for 159.99 for the bare tool. I didn't think that was out of line. Every time I use it I think that price is better and better!
I love mine the Idea that I can just pull it out with a scotch brite pad and sharpen something or clean something with no cord is just awesome! Ive had die grinders for years and I've never used one as much as I do now and it's because it's so easy to use!
My one gripe and this is with all die grinders is that I wish it had a button to lock the spindle. This would allow you to only need one wrench to change the burr out.

I want one bad as well... CAN NOT justify spending that money on something I have 8 or 9 times in air/120v.

I even have the adapter to attach a die grinder bit to my M12 Polisher... to which IT WORKS GREAT !!!

If you want one... there is a guy that sells the adapter on eBay... (He makes them) The thread on the polisher is M9 0.75... for those that are interested.

I love mine as an actual die grinder with a burr bit. Roloc disks not so much (it bogs down if you go too hard, but it's ok).

3" cutoff wheel? Don't even bother -- it's not meant for it and flips the heat protection after a few seconds of use. My Aircat, CP, and IR air grinders can handle a cutoff wheel no problem.

Re - releasing the tools arbor.

Are you aware that they are a 2-stage release, similar to craftsman router collets? After breaking the nut loose, you continue to back the collet nut out until you feel more resistance. At that point, loosen it approx 1/2 turn further and the collet will release.

I love mine as well, I use it WAY more than I expected. The one thing I did notice is that if you're grinding something dusty (IE - wood), the ventilation screens tend to get clogged up and cause the thermal protection to trip.

There have been reports of collets seizing and breaking.

Why they didnt do a trigger lock is beyond me, I hate using two stamped wrenches!

I use 2” rolocs in mine with no issue, anything bigger it ain’t gonna do it. I’ve used my cutoff wheel for trimming sheet metal and it did quite well, I don’t think I’d try cutting anything thicker due to its voracity for batteries.

Probably because of all the 4" cutoff tools that had to be warrantied due to broken trigger locks... I know I warrantied TWO...

I blame users of the 4" cutoff... forgetting it's reversed threads. I put a label on my latest cutoff tool. Milwaukee replaced both tools... no questions asked.

Anyone have the straight die grinder? I want one mostly for running a carbide and maybe some light buffing/scale removal with a roloc where I can't fit a angle grinder. I'd most likely never use it with a cut off wheel much.

Can't stomach the price in Canada too. Likely buy it and get a 6.0 battery too and I already have a 4.0
