If you buy certain bare tools you get a free compact battery, others you get a free XC 4.0 battery.

I got to looking at the offerings, and the M12 tubing cutter is the cheapest one that gets you an XC battery. At $99 for the tool plus an XC 4.0 battery I'm tempted to order the tubing cutter just to have it, even though I'll rarely use it (but hey, that's not a good reason to not buy a tool!).

The initial email I got was from toolup.com, but their shipping was stupid so I also found it at toolbarn:
http://www.toolbarn.com/milwaukee-m12-kit-promo#

Also if you buy one of each bare tool you get a free compact battery, free XC battery, free tool bag and free charger (see bottom of the page in link above). Problem is I need compact batteries, tool bags and M12 chargers like a need a hole in the head. But I'm always up for the XC batteries.

I dunno, I'm gonna see if CPO puts this on their site soon as their $6.99 shipping is the cheapest and I'm cheap, plus I don't really NEED anything right now.

edit: found this mentioned at toolguyd as well. In my case the tubing cutter shows "out of stock online" and my store doesn't carry it

That tool barn page you linked to is really well done. simple and easy.

Do you have the M12 portaband? for $40 more I'd say thats more useful than the copper cutter, except in tight spaces the portaband is going to do the same job plus more. I'm glad they have the pex tool included usually HD leaves that out of their promos.

I've always kinda wanted the M12 portaband but I'm a little shy of the oddball blade size. I'd almost rather get the M18 Fuel, although its in a whole different league in terms of price and size. Damn it's expensive.

Good point however that the tiny portaband might be nice for cutting copper.

I dunno, $139 for the bandsaw and an XC battery ain't bad. I can see it being a nice alternative for small stuff where my M28 is really heavy and awkward.

Can you elaborate on this deal? How did you get that price on all of that red stuff?

I bought that kit. Keep in mind the non fuel batteries are 1.5 and 3.0 ah.

I don't need the impact so I might sell it, a small pack, charger and bag.... that can probably pay for a good amount of the kit price leaving me a good deal on the drill and other 2 batteries.

yeah non fuel with 1.5a and 3a batteries. I saw that in store the other day as well. I'm on the fence between this and a refurb Bosch drill/impact driver kit. I decided I want something small and easy to maneuver as I do a lot of light home and car stuff. Especially for the car. I don't need an M18 for doing stuff inside the car lol. I'll take a 1/2" fuel impact for outside, suspension yeah.

but yeah that Milwaukee kit looks nice for the price, I think I like the feel of the bosch a little better though.

oh yeah real quick, on the website it says it comes with a 2408, which is a hammer drill/drill but it actually comes with a 2407 which is just a drill. In the pics its a 2407 but the description says 2408 so if you order it online just know that.

I also bought the M12 kit after seeing it on the DealGuyd site. A little research found replacement M12XC batteries on Amazon for about $27 each (vs. $46 for Milwaukee).

These batteries get good reviews. I bought 2 and a extra Milwaukee charger for $6 + $5 shipping (Total about $67).

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KGUZDWE/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Time will tell if this was smart, but I should never have to wait for a battery to charge.

Allegedly those will void your warranty & the tool logs each battery used in it.

2 pack of 3.0 XC at HD right now $79.

I don't consider their price good at all. I bought Milwaukee M12 Hammer Drill/Driver (2404-20) for 87$ and Battery 2.0. for 26$ on Ebay this summer. Even now when they made in China. Last year they were made in USA.
