M12 fuel hackzall blade chuck

I got an M12 Fuel Hackzall as a gift 2 years ago. The blade chuck does not work and I can't remove or install a blade in the tool, other than that the tool has no other issues. Went online to do a warranty repair and since the build date is 2018 and as it was a gift and I don't have any purchase receipt, Milwaukee considers it out of warranty and wants a flat $105 to repair the tool......Not going to happen.

YouTube has a few repair videos for this saw so I guess it might be a common issue.

Has anyone else had a problem with the blade chuck on this saw?

Ive had the chuck on my sawzall and hacks all get stuck from dust and ****. Sprayed it with some lube and eventually got it to free up working it back and forth.

3 years no issues with the operation, I couldn't tell y'all the last time I used my 12YO full size 18v ridgid reciprocating saw as this thing is much more arthritis user friendly for the simple tasks I need to accomplish.

No issues using mine for the last 4 years. That includes some nasty plaster coated drywall with steel mesh.

I just hit it with compressed air after each use and it hasn't had any issues.

I haven't done any repairs to the hacksaw but I have done so to the drill and the 3/8" ratchet Drive. I found them very easy to work on and there are plenty of videos on youtube to help.

Having said that, I would absolutely get some penetrating oil and spend some time trying to loosen it up without disassembling it?

I have trie every penetrating concoction known to mankind with negative results.
I’m going to have to take it apart on Sunday, I’ll report back afterwards with the results.

Only if you have a purchase receipt to support date of purchase, without that they go by date of manufacture,
