Does anyone have an M12 rotary hammer they use on a regular basis and have an opinion on them?

I have an M18 fuel rotary hammer but the M12 is about 1/3 smaller. 95% of the holes I drill are for anchors and are 1/2”. The M12 is rated at 5/8” so it’s within its capabilities provided it works well.

I see they also have an M18 5/8” rotary that is the same minus battery size but the m12 is part of a deal with a 5.0 battery thrown in.

I‘m old and have to carry my tools everywhere so weight is more of a concern than power provided the power is adequate

I have the previous generation m12 fuel hammer. I mostly use it for tapcon and 1/4 plug anchors, for which it is brilliant. It'll drill a 1/2 hole just fine, though it's not as fast as my corded sds drill.

M12 is perfectly if you're putting in tons of anchors, Tapcons, Hilti screws, etc all day long, and maybe some 1/2" holes here and there.

I took the leap and bought the m12 fuel rotary and going to attempt to return it after drilling 2 holes.

It will probably be fine for 1/4” holes but is severely lacking for 1/2” holes. It doesn’t hit anywhere near hard enough.

I’m sticking with the m18 1” rotary hammer.

Thanks for follow up, its good to see a report from the field like that.

I have the Fuel M12, its great for portability but I didnt want to comment on maxing out on the diameter spec as I havent needed to much.

At least you are cordless, that M18 is better then dragging cords around and dealing with spider boxes
