M12 vacuum

Anyone have the M12 vacuum? I have several shop vacuums of various types and power. I'm thinking of getting an M12 vacuum for quick cleaning jobs around the house. In particular, my wife likes to sweep the dirt and dog hair to one spot. The problem is, she's got back problems so I'm thinking of getting her something to enable to her to vacuum up the dirt without having to bend over. We would also use it for spot cleaning like corners etc.

So, how is the M12 vacuum? If we get one, we'll only use it with 6.0ah batteries.

Thanks

I have the M18, so not the same but I would say its meh. Personally I don't think it has a ton of suction. I have mine for the same reason and was replacing a dyson with a bad battery.

I bought one for the garage and it has migrated into the house. It is used everyday for spot tasks (I have little kids). I have a 4.0 battery on it and it lasts forever. Way better than the dirt devil with rechargeable battery that it replaced. I have contemplated getting a second M12 to actually stay in the garage.

That's a good recommendation. We already use M12 batteries around the shop and house for various things so it seems to make sense to just add a tool because we don't need chargers and batteries. We mostly use 6.0ah batteries but also have a number of 2.0 and 3.0 batteries as well.

I have the M18 vacuum in the shop and we use it to clean vehicles. It works well for that. I only use 8.0 and 9.0 ah batteries in it. I'm pretty happy with the suction. It's not as good as a decent plug in shop vac but it's nice for what we use it for.

That is my least favorite Milwaukee tool. I got it for around the house, but even with a clean filter it never seemed powerful enough to do more than vacuum pet fur off a hardwood floor. I never tried it with a 6.0 battery, though. I gave it away because it was so weak. I have the M18 tea kettle and it is much more useful.

The non Fuel version seems to have more suction power than the fuel one.

I have 3 or 4 of them, great in the kitchen, camper, van & garage, very handy & I have plenty of batteries so they're always charged. Just don't expect it to be a 6hp shop vac.

That's how we would use it. It won't be a primary vacuum....just a quick vacuum to grab and use for quick cleaning purposes.

I've ordered one so I'll report how we like it soon. Probably have it in a week or so.

No wall mount. We got it and have been using it. My wife and I really like it a lot. No you aren't going to clean your entire house with it but it works great for picking up dog hair and spot cleaning as well as cleaning corners etc. It doesn't hold much so we clean out the dust compartment and filter after every use or every other use.

More than one m12 vac out there: I didn't even know about the fuel version of the model pictured above - is this true?
Its portable and quick.
Good luck,

Have the this M18 version. Just return for Milwaukee service (5 year warranty). It was shutting off every 30-60 seconds. Search showed it was known problem.

Purchased for light shop or project clean. My wife confiscated for kitchen and light vacuum.

It's just a "dust buster" really. Vacuum is a bit of a stretch. I like it for the things you mentioned, cat-floof mainly. I think it will meet your expectations.

I’m a Milwaukee guy, and have the M12 vacuum. IMHO this is one Milwaukee got wrong. There isn’t enough suction. I use it to clean the work bench off.

Just an update......wife and I love it. As mentioned earlier, you aren't going to clean a house with it but for spot cleaning, it's awesome. We use 6ah batteries in it and they last quite a few uses before we have to recharge it.

The 12v vacuum looks fierce but ***** on sucking up stuff. It did pick up some rice off the kitchen floor my wife spilled the other day.

It ***** up everything we need it to. Love it. Wife and I both use it all the time.

The dust collector and filter does need to be cleaned on a regular basis.

I have the M18 kettle vac (the one pictured above). I I like it a lot. Great for cleaning out the car which is what I primarily use it for.
