I just bought an M18 nailer. Its jams at the end of a clip at about the 4th nail from end of the clip. I'm using nail clips that are about 20 years old from a house I built. Do old clips tend to jam or is it probably the nailer?

If I have jambing with a nailer, it's always at the end of a strip, but usually loading a full strip behind it helps. Does that do anything for you or is it still jambing?

I doubt age matters unless the nails are rusty or the plastic is brittle. I'd try another brand of nails and clean/lube the nailer

Are you using the correct angle nails?

4th nail sounds like beginning, but you say end. I doubt you’d get too many thru if the wrong angle.

What nails are you using? Maybe try a new sleeve by another brand.

Is it jamming or just not firing? I have the same gun and have run thousands of nails through it and never had a jam. When it gets down to four nails it just doesn't fire. Reload and go.
