M18 Charger Issues?

Guys today my M18 charger quit working, it’s just normal charger without M12 port. I just use it charging battery Tuesday then removing battery on Wednesday. I tried putting in another battery but nothing. Yes there is power. As much as things cost I really don’t want to buy another charger if I can fix this charger. I store all my Milwaukee stuff in house cause I read someplace that heat is the enemy. It’s all clean and hasn’t been drop. I’m sure that I’m not first have this problem, someone here maybe fix theirs. Unless this charger has had massive melt down, like to see if it’s repairable. Going search on YouTube see if anything there. Thanks for any suggestions.

Well heck, found fuse which is solder in and it looks good. Dang it, price checking M18 chargers

Don't buy one yet. I'm sure there are a bunch of guys with a spare sitting around not being used.
I look for tools on sale and they often include a charger if you're getting a battery. Most are combo units, but they will do the job. If you lived close to me I'd give you one. I have plenty.

Like fav pointed out there’s a bunch of us here that have these pilled up. I’m going out of state for the next several days but if no one has hooked you up by the time I get back I’ll give you one.

Is there another M18 tool that you could use in your collection? If so, buy a combo of that tool and it will come with a battery and charger. You'll then have an extra battery, a new charger and a tool that you can use on future projects.

Have you tried a second battery?

Anything fubar on the contacts?

Since you have it apart do any of the components look bad/cracked/burnt? There may be a TOP261 IC chip is it cracked? Replacement chip is inexpensive if that's problem.

PCustoms I did try another battery but same thing nothing.
cgrutt- I took it apart and all looks good, nothing is discolor. Two days ago I use it, work fine. But not today, heck it’s clean inside. I didn’t take out circuit board to look at under side.

Wow, thanks for charger. I was drill holes for my straps to haul my air compressor. Ran both battery’s down but was able to get it done. One less thing to worry about thanks to cgrutt and GJ for putting word out.

WoopWoop- Look what showed up in mail today. The element of surprise sure did catch me off guard when I posted about trying repair my M18 charger. cgrutt had one around his shop, so in true GJ members style offer to give it to me. Not only that, he ship it to my door, boxing and paying shipping. All he ask in return is to Play it again. Is this awesome or what? Thanks cgrutt for your kindness, WOW

I had a M18 charger die on me, and 2 Metabo HPT chargers. Annoying. And expensive if you're on a timeline have to pay retail. I picked up an extra chargers for both platforms on ebay for a nominal amount to have as a backup.
