My old air impact is not cutting it anymore so going to pick up a 1/2" Milwaukee M18 Fuel. I am not clear on the pros and cons of the Fuel pin detent vs friction ring version???

There are 2 huge differences between the 2762 (pin detent) & 2763 (friction ring) impacts.

1. Power level.....

2762 has 900 ft-lbs max reverse torque.

2763 has 1,100 ft-lbs max reverse torque.

2. Anvil.....

2762 (pin detent) is made for industrial applications where the socket is rarely removed & cannot "accidentally" fall off. Think of installing the same sized bolts/nuts all day everyday (i.e. - steel construction).

2763 (friction ring) is made for general use & automotive techs, where you will need to change sockets often & have more power to remove stuck fasteners. If you are working on cars, this is the one you want.

Here is my review on the 2763...
