M18 Surge, Next Gen, When?

Does anybody have any insight on when Milwaukee will introduce the next version of the M18 Surge Impact? The current version has been out for a couple of years, I figured they are due for an upgrade. Wondering if I should pull the trigger on one now or wait if until a new one based on the Fuel Gen 3 platform will be introduced.

You'll find out when they have a press release. The newest surge is the M12, and I highly recommend it over the M18.

I have the M18 FUEL impact and just picked up the M12 Surge, and for driving screws the M12 Surge might just be the perfect weapon! So small, so smooth, so much more control then the M18.

I have the M12 Surge, and it's my favorite power tool. I'm sure they'll do a Gen 2 at some point, but in the meantime I use my Surge often.

Other than battery life, I don't think there's any upgrade from M12-->M18 for the Surge, and honestly the M12 is such an easy, balanced tool I wouldn't choose to have an M18 version even though I have tools on both batteries. You can do a looooot of work on an M12 4.0 or 6.0 battery, so even the extra that comes along with the M18 isn't something I've missed/wanted.
