Normally one might say, stick with the ecosystem you have, and you're good to do. 24 months ago, I did, and bought the Ryobi. No complaints. Circumstances changing, as they do, and red is invading my space. First M12, now M18. I'm likely not bailing on Ryobi, because I like thier multi-tool combined with the Rigid attachments and a few other niche tools.

Anyway, as a younger tool nut in my house emerges, I can see where some of my green might go, especially since said tool nut now drives. If I go red, I might consider a vacuum. Any real improvement over green, basically the same?

Thanks

I have the M18 vacuum. It works as good as to be expected-Meaning it's not a "shop vac" in power terms.

What I found odd when looking at these size battery vacs was this- DeWalt is the only one I found that takes a battery AND can be plugged into 120VAC.

I wish Ryobi would produce a newer generation version of their smaller P3200 ~1 gallon cannister vac they made years ago but have long since discontinued, but with more performance enabled by modern higher current/capacity batteries and a larger brushless motor.

Rather than used in a profession where I need more capacity, I'd just be using it for homeowner projects and repairs, cleaning out vehicles, etc. TTI also made this for Sears/Craftsman a few years longer but uses the proprietary Craftsman battery format instead, and had same underwhelming performance.
