Mac 1/4 driver impact ratchet.

I got an older Mac 1/4 driver impact ratchet today that works but seems weak. If I track down a Mac truck will the rebuild it for me?

Theyl send it out for you but prolly charge you to have it built they may not wana do buis with you tho since you not a regular spending customer

I got burned 2x by MAC when sending in a broken air tool. They will offer you 20% off a new tool and will not return your old one if you don't take their offer.

So your out a tool basically.

They will claim it is lost. Or unfixable. At the very least will want you to pay over priced ship costs for the return. However I have found depends on the MAC guy. Here he is way cool and would warranty anything as long as they still have the parts. Some are "too busy" to perform customer service. The man here is all about that. Even tosses in freeby's once in awhile.

I checked once on sending an air hammer in that wasn't hitting right. I didn't have a mac guy at the time so I ending up buying a matco one. When I got a mac guy again, I looked into sending it, but the minuim charge to send it was stupid high. I don't remember what exactly, but well north of $100. I past and the hammer has just layed under the bench for five years or so.

I believe that tool is made by K&E they might have rebuild kits

I was told by the tool truck driver thay they "Lost" it. Spent hrs on the phone calling customer service and just got the run around.

My boss then banned the MAC guy from our shop

How hard are these things to rebuild?

OK I finally was able to see the model number and its a mac AR2765.

Mac did that with a timing light I sent in. The tool guy said not fixable and it would be $50 or something if I wanted it back. No offer to take any money off a new one. Never replaced it. Now looking for a SO timing light. The one before the current version. The current version looks cheap and has fake chrome diamond plate under it. WTF?
