I made a newbie mistake and bought a Mac socket set thinking it was a 3/8". Imagine my surprise when it turned out to be a 1/4". I double-checked the EBay listing and realized that the seller (a pawnshop) did not specify the drive size!

I'm wondering if you guys could advise me on what would be a fair price for this set since I don't have a need for SAE 1/4" sockets and ratchet.

- Mac part# SM196BR
- All of the tools are US made
- The box is a bit tired but intact
- 5/16" short socket is Indestro Super
- 2" extension is Sparta
- Ratchet is Proto 4749
- 1/4" deep socket is missing
- 7/16" shallow socket is missing

Unless you camara makes evrything look larger than normal. That does not appear to be a 1/4" set. Looks like a 3/8" set from the drive sizes.

????? Sure looks like 1/4" inch to me. Look at the nutdriver handle.

Based on the big 1/4" set that is $600+ new and usually sells for $250, I would say you could ask $80 for a miss-matched set of standard. It does have the $20 dollar wobble handle and the $25 universal, but there just isn't a market for 1/4" standard sockets anymore.

I watched that exact set go for $75 last month, but it was complete and had a MAC ratchet. I would be suprised if your set went for more than $40 on ebay.

Thanks a lot, guys. I actually paid $26 plus shipping for it, so it looks like I'll be able to get most of it back.

I know who is selling that set, it's a local estate sale company that did a Mac dealers estate sale a while back. Looks like they kept some stuff for themselves. I'm hoping the price goes real high.

Did they already sell the set on the left that would be the one I would be interested in.
