first post on the forum. ive been looking and searching for answers about the mac 100 tooth swivel head racthets(see link)
http://www.mactools.com/ShopOnline/Product/tabid/120/productid/331465/variantid/322226/Default.aspx

long story short, my manager borrowed my 80 tooth snap on ratchet and left it in a customers car so he owes me a new ratchet or $92. mac has a sale on the 100 tooth ractchets for the 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 ratchets for $204. just want to see if any one uses them or likes them before i end up buying the set. thanks

I would not buy those. The Gearwrench ones are of very similar quality, but much cheaper. And even the Harbir Freight ones have great reviews. I would not buy those from Mac, IMO it is a rip off.

Same as the Cornwell 100t swivel heads. I have the 72t Cornwell version and had them for a few years. They are great for what they are. Not in Snap On league though. Have him buy you the Snap on or give you the money to get one. Here is the Cornwell version http://www.cornwelltools.com/webcat...d-1{47}4”-Dr.-100-Tooth-Handle-Swivel-Ratchet. Made in Taiwan by Professional tool products I assume the Mac is made by the same company

I agree don't get it, I bought the long handled version and the next week I put it as trade in for a snap on 100 tooth, much better. I know what that's like, my Forman once lost my led stinger and I went out and bought a stinger hp led but I only made him pay half.

Just from the quick look, it looks really cheaply made. For that kind of cash I would expect a metal handle that's long. My $0.02.

The XRR11FPA with its Facom head would be a better ratchet than those 100 tooth imports.

I have one of those Mac/import ratchets in 1/4" and really like it. Also have older Snap On and Matco in the same size, but they are not the swivel head like the Mac is. From a design standpoint, in 1/4" drive, I really like the swivel head. I do not work as a mechanic, my use is limited to a few hours each night and a day on the weekends (if I am lucky), and have not had any issues with it yet.
