I know this has been brought up before but check out this ebay auction. The pictures look doctored, the local junk tool store sells the same drill from the MIT brand. Same package just without the fake MAC stickers.

Heck, With what weve seen happening to MAC tools, this probably is just as good or better! :lol_hitti

$15.99 from Harbor Freight! Amazing how much a MAC sticker is worth to rubes who don't know better! I suppose he is just doing what MAC is doing: Rebadging.

As it stands right now, the bid is up to $61.00!!!

The sad fact is that you aren't even supposed to Email the guy who bid on this tool to warn him. You can be penalized by EBAY for AUCTION INTERFERENCE!

Damn there are some stupid people. Look at the "MAC" label on the Package, it isnt even on straight lol. WOW!

I Hope somebody pays top dollar for this to punish them for being so unbelievably stupid and not taking 60 seconds to look at the MAC site and figure out what they are buying.

LOL... I just bought that HF drill for $10 the other week. Maybe I should go back for more and resell after I stop by Kinko's for some stickers...

Can anyone make out the model number on the top right of the package?? I wanna see if it's the same thing....lol

20,000 RPM does not a drill make. Sander/grinder, maybe.

I sent a question to the seller asking which model of MAC drill this is, as I cannot seem to find it in their catalog. ;)

Ironically, it does look a bit like a real MAC. Who knows, maybe from the same factory!

I sent them a email too asking how it could be MAC brand when its the same package as MIT brand with stickers clearly over the brand logos. No reply.

The local Tools+More around here sells the MIT stuff which does not make good air tools, and they have had that exact drill on the shelf before under the correct logo.

somewhere...
I reported it as fraudulent--I suggest you all do the same, this is the kind of **** that makes eBay such a shady way to buy tools.

If this really isn't a MAC product (and it doesn't look like it), and you really want to do something about it contact MAC
http://server.iad.liveperson.net/hc...58/escalate!PAGETYPE?VisitorProfile=Mac Tools

If they care about their copyright they'll contact ebay and ask them to terminate the auction or take other action against the seller.

Dewalt apparently polices ebay and asks them to terminate even auctions which are legit, which is why I no longer own or touch a single Dewalt tool. Check out the "DRM drama drill" saga:

Let me guess, you never got a reply from the shame seller, right?

I just asked a question also along the lines of "Do you offer a 100% money back guarantee that the drill pictured and up for auction is if fact made by Mac? Please post this question and you reply on the auction page". We'll see what happens.

And I just realized that the auction has ended... guess we won't be seeing the sellers reply.

Actually I am kinda surprised nobody with a bogus EBAY account bid this up to "win" it and then left negative feedback - Seller of phony tools!

Not a happy ending, but an appropriate one.

What is more cryptic is this $#!@bird's response to the negative feedback! Guess he doesn't like southerners.

It is kind of odd that the seller of the fake drill left positive feedback before getting feedback from the buyer. I really think this guy must not have known it was a fake at least at first. You would think after so many of us contacted him and told him it was fake, he would have at least waited to leave positive feedback for the buyer. I think the seller is probably just not too bright rather than dishonest.
