Mac AR249 repair

Several months ago my 1/4" Mac air ratchet got knocked off my cart and broke in half. So I asked the Mac man what it cost for repair, he said standard repair was $125. So I handed it to him, he then said that it wouldnt be worth sending in because it what cost to much for a new body. I would come out cheaper to buy a new one. I asked him to send it in anyway. Next week he gave it back to me. So I bought a new one from the SO man.
Couple weeks ago I decide to send it in myself, just got a letter today with a repair estimate. It said "UNIT WILL BE RECODITIONED AT THE FIXED RATE" the fixed rate is $107 with a 90 day warranty.

how old was it,either way that would not be satisfactory to me.they should at least give you some love if your a pro wrench turner.

I've had it for several years and it has hit the floor a few times. I may be wrong, but I think it had just come out when I bought it.
