I've had a soft spot in my head for the Mac AW434 impact wrench, which went through several revisions before becoming the AWP434, which then went through a few more revisions.
I'm trying to figure out who makes it for Mac, and if it's got an identical "brother" without the tool-truck price.
As close as I can tell, it's a no-******** version of the I-R 232TGSL "Thunder Gun/Street Legal". My favorite air-tool parts vendor lists a bunch of IR parts as replacement for the Mac 434. Handle design seems identical, as does the three-bolt hammer case (one up, two down, opposite of the ultracommon two up, one down IR 231). I'm fairly certain that Matco and maybe Cornwell also had (have?) their version of this impact wrench.
Anyone know for sure if it's
1. Made by I-R?
2. Identical internally to the 232TGSL?
