mac ball joint press where made?

So `i'm looking at a used mac ball joint puller that has one of the sleeves missing so i contacted mac to find out how muck a replacement was and i got this part number #OT29505 which looks like an OTC number so i`m assuming that OTC makes this for mack and with OTC making their stuff in china that makes the mac tool ****** Chinese ****?
Am i wrong?

The BJP1 is sweet, and every piece is USA. I still hate it, only because if I'm getting it out, it means I'm changing pressed-in ball joints. Nothing against the tool, it works great for pressing those accursed things out.

Hasn't been on the shelf long enough for the price to go down to what I want to pay. They have it at $500 but it's been there for a few months, I'm going to wait another month or two, hoping someone else doesn't want it for a higher price than I want to pay. I screwed up on a Baldor 8", 3/4 HP buffer motor the other day, someone bought it out from under me for around $120. I got lazy and figured that since it had been there for months I could wait another week.

I will say I was very happy with my OTC 8031 for my dodge used it a few times once of my truck and on a couple other trucks. No issues, I lube the thread which seems ot help.

That's true.
My balljoint press is just a crappy OTC knockoff made by Astro.
And my crappy Waterloo box (one of them at least) has already collapsed in on itself: about six years ago my (then) service advisor thought he would "play a prank" on me and open all the drawers at once.

I bought my MAC/OTC ball joint press many many years ago. Mine is made in USA. It says MAC Tools but it is made by OTC.

My buddy has an old, Mac made in the USA by OTC press but he would never sell it. I just broke down and bought a BJP1 and have never regretted it. The adapters snap in unlike the OTC and I can do them by myself instead of needing three hands.

i have done A LOT of ball joints, not sure where people are needing 3 hands sure it can be a balancing act till you get the screw threaded in some but not a big deal. the snap on one I am sure is nice i would love to try one, but its another one of those tools that is awfully expensive and the OTC has gotten the job done fairly easily. my 2 hands are free when using the OTC, one for the impact, 1 for the big hammer

I have an otc set (usa) and a US General (HF china)

Broke the clamp on the US General removing ball joints off a Dana 60 that had been sitting out in a junk yard in the back of a junker truck for likely 10 years. Easy exchange at HF.

I bought the HF set for things like this as I end up dealing with junk yard axles often

I use the HF press daily at work. Key is just keep the threads greased and press on straight. Never had a bend or break.

I bet those snap in adapters are real handy! Nothing ticks you off more then getting the right adapters and then the entire setup falling on the floor while you try to finagle the impact gun on it lol

Funny you should ask. I pulled the left lower ball joint and pressed the new one in on the future son-in-laws 97 F150 4x4 tonight. Stopped for supper and will let him pull the right side. We are replacing the upper control arms (with bushings and ball joint included) as well as the lower ball joints, tie rod ends and shocks. The rear diff will get put back in tomorrow when Hudlow gets finished with it and the rear shocks and brakes will get replaced them also.
