MAC Box and tools Value?

Friend of mine may sell his Box and tools

MAC Macsimizer box,
most of the 3/8 & 1/2 sockets are either Mac or Snap On, 3/4 drive stuff no name stuff
Three 3/8 ratchets & two 1/2 ratchets and one 1/4 drive ratchet are all Snap on
Most wrenches are Hazet (made In Germany)
Crowfoot are noname
Snap On screw drivers
Snap on pliers, Snap ring
power probe tester
Mac Digital Multi meter
Blue point 3/8 air-ratchet
Snap On 1/2 air Gun
Blue Point cutoff wheel
Mac 3/8 Air gun Reverse/ forward

lots of odds and ends like taps and stuff

what's all this worth

I see a maybe 1500ish in tools from the pictures. Not sure what the box is worth, couple grand more than likely.

Since it's your money we're spending, I'd go about $3000.

If it was mine I was spending, I'd want to be in it $2200 to $2500.

Have to look at the sockets and wrenches closer, plus some of the miscellaneous to make sure wasn't off in that estimate.

Another post while I was posting. Coincidentally, I came up with $1600 in the tools. I put $1400 into the box. Would bring more if you had some time to sell it, and didn't sell it with the tools.

I think you got some answers already..

Sad truth is being sold even if new may bring about 60% of their value, used you can figure 40% at best and it all depends on condition.

The box is an older model but appears to be in really good shape but unfortunately is only worth good money on a trade in. Private sale its worth maybe 2 grand tops, realistically 1.5k is what could sell for. The hazet tools are better to be sold somewhere where it reach its fair value and where people who know what it is would pay the fair price. Most people in the USA dont know of Hazet and would not pay near what Snap-on goes for.

List for $4k, take first $2500-3K cash.

Probably make more to take the time and sell individually, but locally can be a long wait and eBay/Paypal will take their cut in fees, so it could be a wash.
