There are few things that show character like an old tool box. Well....

Fresh from Saskatoon. Found this old Mac Toolbox for Sale.

It bought it off a college student who bought it from a retired mechanic from the Prince Albert Paper Mill. Ran up there, bought it and drove home. Spent an hour or so cleaning it, removing stupid rockstar energy and metal mulisha stickers and giving it back its dignity.

Cleaned it up, greased the tracks and with the exception of needing a new lock I’m extremely happy with the chunk of Prairie history I now own and will use every day at work.

Also if anyone has handles with 2.75 inch spacing centre to centre on bolt holes, I could really use some replacements as I cannot track them down. (I don't really do ebay)

Who made that?

Does that pre-date the Remline boxes with the custom MAC drawer handles?

It looks kind of Waterloo doesn't it?

I wasn’t sure what to do about the missing paint on the front cover. To repaint it would cause me lose all the retro decals. But I had to figure something out to mitigate it.

I ended up calling up our local vinyl decal and graphics shop and got them to fish me a piece of black out of their scrap bin I could use on the bottom. I think it came out looking pretty well all things considered.

That top box is identical to the box that was on top of my lower box when I found it at a garage sale. The kid tending the register said he wasn’t allowed to sell it so I drove home with just the bottom, and side cab. Found a different top in a barn later (and the mid box on eBay). I always assumed Waterloo made them but I could be wrong.
